Over 39 million people visit New York City's iconic Times Square annually and are presented with cutting-edge art and performances by the Times Square Alliance. Using multiple forms and media for their performances, the Times Square Alliance has become one of the highest profile public arts programs in the United States. Currently, the Times Square Alliance is working with Chashama to present the Art Takes Times Square Competition, gathering artists from around the world to participate.
Artistic expression is similar to evolution in the way that it can never be stopped. Art is an essential part of life and comes to life in the most unexpected places. Now the world has the opportunity to curate the art they want to see displayed on the giant digital billboards rising 23 stories high throughout Times Square by casting their vote in this competition.
Among the artists competing is New York native Michael Adam Alpert, presenting his artwork in mixed media and abstract art. To vote for Michael Adam Alpert, visit the Artists Wanted site and click the “Collect Me” link at the top of the page. Voting is open until May 25th!
Michael Adam Alpert takes the public on his personal journey to uncover aspects of his unconscious that he is able to illuminate. Alpert has truly opened up about his life through his art. By sharing his life experiences in his artwork he hopes to show New York City and the world that we are all part of the human condition.
