About Bitty City Players
Bitty City Players' mission is to educate and inspire young children in New York City by exploring theater with them in a fun, safe and caring environment.
Founded in 2011 by Danielle Haber and Caroline Patterson, Bitty City Players celebrates the unabashed creativity of a child’s mind, and they are not afraid to be silly. They want each child to experience the joy of self-discovery, while learning to work supportively within a group.
Theater is an amalgamation of art forms, including visual arts, sound/music, acting, dance, costuming, etc. Players will explore all these disciplines through games, directed play and performance. As teaching artists, Danielle and Caroline do not “talk at” children – they connect to their experience, listen closely and guide them. Bitty City's players will learn to better express themselves and will gain confidence when interacting with their peers, their families and the city around them – and they will have fun! The classes will help to set the stage for a lifetime of creative thinking, curiosity and interest in all of the arts and culture NYC has to offer.
