About La Carafe
In the bustling neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen, La Carafe presents a cozy retreat. Promoting elegant simplicity, sumptuous European delicacies are served within the cool, cosmopolitan dining room. The owner and chef Al Rineh is also the founder of the successful L’Ybane restaurants.
Serving Mediterranean cuisine with flourishes of French sophistication, the La Carafe menu foregrounds experimental flavors (creamy cinnamon and garlic sauce is intermixed with the penne Bolognese) as well as time-honored classics (pan seared veal scallop with mushrooms and topped with a light cream sauce served with mix greens). There are a variety of hot and cold appetizers – spiced chickpea fritters, grilled merguez, eggplant caviar – and specialty pasta, seafood and Mediterranean entrees featuring the black pearl dish, cassolette of mussels.
Showcasing a first-rate wine list, La Carafe presents a range of bottles sourced from across the globe, from light, easy-drinking whites, to stunningly powerful reds. With sleek, dark furnishings and subdued lighting, the dining room at La Carafe presents a relaxed setting for a refined glass.
The aim of La Carafe is to provide a place for people to feel at home, to enjoy friendly encounters and appreciate the rich flavors of Mediterranean cuisine.
