About Park Avenue LASEK
Park Avenue LASEK is New York's only non-cutting laser vision center and is the exclusive provider of SafeSight – the safest and most advanced form of laser vision correction available today.
A SafeSight Lasek procedure is non-invasive. There is no cut made into your eye with a metal blade or any other cutting laser, as it is done with Lasik procedures.
Park Avenue Lasek was rated as the Most Ethical Laser Center in NYC by CBS News, and has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, International Herald Tribune, and Fox News.
Dr. Emil William Chynn, MD, proprietor of Park Avenue Lasek, is New York City's most experienced no-cut, no-flap, all laser surgeon. Dr. Chynn has performed over 17,000 procedures in his career, and was the first Lasik surgeon in New York City to receive Lasik surgery himself in 1999. He switched his procedure to the more effective SafeSight Lasek procedure in 2003.
Dr. Chynn graduated from Dartmouth College and attended medical school at Columbia University’s College of Physicians & Surgeons. He completed his residency at the world-famous Harvard University’s Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary, where he was on the teaching faculty of Harvard Medical School, and a colleague with the inventors of the SafeSight procedure.
After Harvard, Dr. Chynn chose to spend an additional year completing a full fellowship in Corneal Transplantation & Refractive Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, under George Waring, MD, who introduced radial keratomy and Lasik to the United States.
