Calle Ocho's Cuban Independence Prix Fixe Menu, Live Music
Calle Ocho, at the Excelsior Hotel, is one of New York's most distinguished Latin restaurants that serves up classic Latin dishes and delectable cocktails.
In honor of Cuban Independence that is annually celebrated on May 20, Calle Ocho is excited to launch a special Cuban Independence Dinner series, featuring a Cuban-inspired menu, refreshing Latin cocktails, and live music by a Grammy-nominated performer. Calle Ocho will host these celebratory dinners every Monday until May 21 in their private dining room.
Each dinner will feature a special four-course $55 prix fixe Cuban menu, designed by Chef Alex Garcia, and will offer different Cuban specialties each week. In addition to the specially designed menu, upon arriving, all diners will receive a complimentary welcome mojito, one of Calle Ocho’s signature cocktails. During the event, diners will be able to enjoy complimentary wine, as well as red and white sangria.
Throughout each dinner, the air will be filled with the intimate live music of Grammy-nominated artist Juan-Carlos Formell, and his three piece band. The Cuban bassist and composer is best known for his electronic musical pieces and live salsa music. The singer-musician will have diners tapping their feet to the beat every Monday.
Each Cuban Independence dinner in the series will be from 7 to 10 p.m., and reservations are required, as space is limited. Proceeds from each dinner will benefit American Friends of The Ludwig Foundation of Cuba. To make a reservation, call Calle Ocho at (212) 873- 5025 and mention “Cuban Independence Dinner”.
