Chelsea Piers Sports Center's New Training Programs
Chelsea Piers Sports Center Health Club is getting ready for the fall with two new programs.
The Sports Center is definitely not your everyday neighborhood fitness center. Featuring more state-of-the-art sports facilities than any other New York sports club, the Sports Center at Chelsea Piers offers a variety of major sports amenities that make it a top tier “hot spot” for fitness.
You can’t always do the killer body builder workouts that you could back in high school and college, but, now at Chelsea Piers, you can relieve your glory days at Athletes Camp with an intense 4 week training program that includes:
- Sprints on the indoor track
- Box jumps of various heights
- Upper body exercises on the plyo press, Olympic rings and jungle gym
- Medicine ball distance throws
- Bouldering at the rock wall
Each class will have a minimum of 6 athletes and will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 19. Classes are open to Sports Center members for a fee of $400 and non-members for a fee of $500.
If you’re a competitor and looking for intense training, the Sports Center also provides a Performance Center program with a state-of-the-art training facility for New York triathletes, runners and cyclists. The Performance Center is designed with competitive athletes and multi-sport athletes in mind. The cutting edge technology that will help to improve performance includes:
- High Speed Treadmills
- VO2 max and lactate testing
- Video gate analysis
- Acceleration training
- Bike fit station
The Performance Center is slated to open on November 1.
