Immerse Yourself in Art & French Culture: Abundant Learning
The multicultural atmosphere that children experience at Abundant Learning, is unlike any other learning center. Through their wide variety of programs, students will be able to reach their highest potential, in the most diverse ways.
Among their programs this summer and fall, Abundant Learning is offering their Art/French course. Instructor Sophie Sejourne will take your little Einstein on an exploration of color through drawings and paintings in both French and English. For young children, exploring other cultures is very beneficial and rewarding. As students progress through the summer program into the fall, they will be fully immersed in a French environment.
At the start of the program, students will work with brushes on canvases made of large white paper spread on the floor. Working with primary colors that they will mix together, students will learn about different color combinations.
As students progress through the second phase of the course, they will be supplied with paper and markers, paint and colored pencils. These tools will be used to draw geometric forms, such as circles and rectangles. Throughout this phase, Sophie will post questions like, “What ideas do you have when you see this form?” Working together with Sophie, students will learn how to transfer their ideas into their drawings.
At the conclusion of the program, Sophie and the children will look at each Einstein's proposition to create a story with their ideas on the large surface. Their final result will be a large mural, that tells their stories about the shapes and the colors painted.
This enriching experience at Abundant Learning is a unique learning tool for children to learn the importance of both creativity and skill.
