The Houston Street Center, University Settlement is introducing a whole new way to move with specialty kids dance classes in SoHo.
In addition to the community center's regular schedule of programs, The Making Moves dance program is uniquely designed for children ages 8-12. The program will run for an eight-week session from September 9 through October 28.
Break dancing classes for kids include: toprock, footwork freezes, fast moves, power moves, spins, back bridges and kick ups.
For just $70, children will be able to learn the best moves from dance instructor Zachary Cruz, who was raised on the Lower East Side and started his career as an underground B-boy. His classical music training at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts also led him to study ballet at the Abrons Arts Center, and continuing to expand his knowledge of modern dance and jazz.
Students at the Houston Street Center will receive guided instruction to develop more fluid movements and confidence while dancing. Taking part in dance classes also produces great benefits for kids, such as developing a healthy new hobby that promotes physical well-being and serves as a great extra-curricular activity.
Making Moves is just one of the many kids dance classes and programs in NYC that parents can delight in, while engaging children in a fun new program to get up and start moving in dance classes!
