Kinespirit Hosts Free Pilates Day Event on May 5th
Pilates has become one of the most popular forms of exercise, with over 11 million people practicing it on a regular basis. In an effort to further the public’s appreciation and awareness of this method, the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) will be celebrating international Pilates Day on Saturday, May 5. The PMA will host a variety of free innovative Pilates Day events for the purpose of fitness and education.
One of those host locations is wellness studio Kinespirit Gyrotonic, Pilates & Yoga. They work to help their clients to achieve their personal fitness goals through beneficial techniques like Pilates. Kinespirit will be participating in Pilates Day at their Upper West Side studio location, beginning at 9 a.m. with Run-Pilates-Run. This event is free of charge, but Team Kinespirit will be collecting donations for “Back on My Feet,” a charity that supports people in need by encouraging change and empowerment through running and physical activity.
Pilates Day with Kinespirit will begin with a warm-up using some key Pilates exercises, followed by a run in Central Park, conducted by Pilates Master and co-Kinespirit owner, Chantal Deeble. Participants will return to the studio for an hour-long Pilates workout and cool down, completed by 11 a.m.
Pilates is a great way to benefit your body by strengthening your muscles and enhancing flexibility, particularly in the back and abdomen. Focusing on deep and healthy breathing also allows you to increase lung capacity and circulation throughout the body. Through the Pilates techniques, your posture, balance and core strength are increased, teaching you control of the body that you can use in other areas of your life as well.
Come support “Back on My Feet” as you enhance your body with Kinespirit Gyrotonic, Pilates & Yoga's Pilates Day event.
