Like all the other Spice Girls enthusiasts out there, I tremored with sheer bliss at the groups' spectacular performance during the 2012 Summer Olympics closing ceremony. As their ecstatic and nostalgic routine entranced my stuck-in-the-90s obsession with music, I couldn’t help but critique the getups of each fashionable Spice. Even more striking than they were “back in the day,” the Spices were simply stunning, and I found myself pondering the evolution and influence the ladies have had on style and apparel. While Scary Spice was known for her radical, animal print-plenty, risqué attire, and Baby Spice was loved for her cutesy flair, it was Posh Spice that dominated the style icon title.

Posh Spice, better known today as Victoria Beckham, represents the epitome of sensual and current panache. As she so confidently did in the '90s during her prime spicy days, Posh struts the streets of L.A., New York, London and other fashion-forward cities in the latest designs, while putting a personal stamp on each outfit. While each look is, for lack of a better word, posh, the star’s most memorable ensembles involve one key piece- her sexy leather leggings.

It is this fashion statement (I say statement since a material as bold as leather deserves to be labeled as nothing less than) that I have personally mimicked and reworked for my own style, as well as an uncountable number of clients. The leather leggings, ONLY passable in a black or maybe dark grey color, are slimming, flattering, warm, comfortable and sexy. What more could a girl ask for when it comes to style?

Just as Posh so brilliantly has, I suggest wearing leggings like Urban Outfitter's Emily D Vegan Leather Legging, with a sleek and chic black blazer like Guess’ Jackie Long Sleeve Blazer. Do not, I repeat, do not pair leather leggings with a leather jacket at the risk of overdoing the biker-babe flair and screaming “I belonging at a Led Zeppelin concert.” Off set the black-on-black look with a bright white tank or boyfriend shirt and perfectly capture Posh’s sexy style.
