Marriott and Starwood Plan NoMad Hotels

Developer John Lam is talking to some big time tenants for his new tower that will be going up in the heart of NoMad at Broadway between West 29th and West 30th Streets. It's looking likely that Marriott and Starwood will both open hotels in Lam's tower.

The project, which is slated at around $300 million, is looking very likely. This will change the dynamic of the hotel scene in NoMad, which until this point featured smaller and hip hotel brands such as Ace Hotel, Gansevoort Park and The NoMad Hotel.

Starwood is looking to keep with the feel of the neighborhood by installing one of their Aloft boutique brands featuring 300 rooms. Marriott is planning to open another of their Renaissance hotels in the spot. Close your eyes for one second and a new hotel springs up in NoMad!
