NYC Skin Care Spa Embraces Beauty Through Charity
Symbolizing what it means to be beautiful on the inside and out, skin care spa B Spa Bar does more than provide quality spa treatments to guests and residents of New York City. The spa generously works alongside many charities in an effort to spread the beauty of the world around, since their first annual F.A.B. event debuted in November 2011 at the Misin Shin Salon. The event marked their efforts to combine Fashion, Beauty, Art and Philantrophy.
As one of their more exclusive events, the spa is hosting their Fall Fashion event at Pera Soho, Friday, September 14 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. As the spa works to reach a broader audience, they will showcase seven amazing charities throughout the event, while offering guests a complete social experience with drinks, live music, beauty experts, celebrity art and a fashion element. People will then have the opportunity to vote on the charity of their choice for a grand prize of $1000 cash and $1000 worth of gift certificates (each charity walks way with $1000 work of gift certificates).
Here is a complete list of the charities taken part at this top spa’s event:
Founded by Russell Simmons in 2007 in the Diamond Industry, the charities mission is to support education initiatives in African nations. These are the locations where diamonds are a natural resource, with the belief that sustainable development through education is essential to empower both individuals and society to reach their fullest potential.
Look Good Feel Better Program – American Cancer Society
Saving lives and striving to create a world with less cancer, this nationwide health organization helps women with cancer feel better about themselves. As they work to find a cure, this program builds a woman’s confidence through skin care and makeup.
Their mission is to empower women to become change agents in their communities by providing them with the tools needed to render support, outreach and spiritual development and preventive services to other women infected or at risk of contracting HIV/Aids.
Dr. Donald Roland travels around the world to help underprivileged women who have breast cancer and children who are born with cleft palates.
Started in 1976 by ballet star Jacques d’Amboise, this non-profit arts education organization is the first charity of its kind and serves 5000 children each week in grades K-6.
A non-profit, non-partisan organization, this charity is supported solely by private donors. Their work entails aiding and protecting North Korean refugees, focusing on awareness through mobilizing the grassroots and telling these stories of hope and survival. The charity works directly with refugees through a network of shelters in China and Southeast Asia, protecting and assisting as they work towards freedom and empowerment.
For the "socially conscious fashionista," RBRW bridges the gap between the fashion forward visitors who love the glamour and excitement of the fashion industry and those who are more socially active. Their collection of content brings awareness to pressing social issues faced by millions of women and children in this country, specifically domestic violence. The charity works to give women a way out through safety, education counseling, fashion and more.
