    Summer = Downtown Dance Factory

    The temperature will soar to whopping 79 degrees this week, which means summer is nipping at our heels! Before you know it, school will be out. What's your plan?

    Here's one: Downtown Dance Factory's summer program is still open for registration. Recently featured as a “Reader’s Pick” in the Time Out New York Kids camp edition 2012, this TriBeCa favorite is filling fast!

    While it could be hard to top the success of last year's summer program, Downtown Dance Factory's summer 2012 program promises more dance, more arts & crafts, more performance, and more fun and maybe a few surprises!

    The summer program begins July 2 and ends July 27. Choose one week, two weeks, three weeks or all four! The full-day program is open to children born 2002 - 2007 entering kindergarten through 5th grade in September 2012. The full day begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. Each week, full-day students will have the opportunity to experience classes in jazz/hip hop, lyrical/modern dance, tap and breaking, as well as learn improvisation, craft & costume-making and choreography and on Friday afternoon just prior to pick-up, full-day students can look forward to sharing their routines with their grown-ups during the weekly showcase.

    The half-day program is available to potty-trained children 3 and 4 years of age as of July 1, 2012, who are not entering kindergarten in September 2012. The half day begins at 9 a.m. and ends at noon. Half-day students will enjoy a selection of Downtown Dance Factory's acclaimed preschool dance classes like hip hop, modern dance, tap – together with dance-related crafts, story-telling and dress-ups. Add a smattering of singing, drama and a taste of breakdance and creative movement--even Bollywood, and Summer's a wrap!

    Registration is easy. Call Downtown Dance Factory at 212-962-1800 or register online.
