Take a Trip to the New York Public Library to Play Chess

What better way for a kid to learn how to play and master the game of chess than by joining a couple friends and NYChessKids at the New York Public Library?

NYChessKids will be hosting a special chess event for kids on Saturday, November 17. Children who are just getting familiar with the game can learn to play chess with basic (but effective) strategies and techniques, while those who already know how to play can work on mastering their skills.

Playing chess at the New York Public Library is guaranteed to help children from all skill levels develop as better players while engaging in fun games with other players in an informal setting. NYChessKids will be hosting two classes:

    10- 10:45 a.m. - Beginners

    11- 11:45 a.m. - Experienced Players

NYChessKids will provide all the materials for this FREE chess event for kids. All children ages 5-12 are welcome to attend. Registration is required and families can sign up children at the information desk on the first floor.

For more information about upcoming chess sessions at the New York Public Library, visit NYChessKids.

Be sure to stop by the Learning Center for more educational opportunities to play chess games and participate in upcoming workshops!
