Tall and Lean in an Instant!
Who doesn't want to be instantly taller and leaner? While this kind of claim is usually just a sales pitch, good posture actually can make you look thinner, stronger, and more confident in two seconds. Slouching, on the other hand, makes your belly stick out, caves in your chest, and lowers your head. This makes your profile dumpy and can cause or worsen neck cramps and soreness.
Stand up straight, hold your head high, pull your shoulders back, and suck in your belly button. Voila! You are suddenly thinner and taller. Plus, you put less stress on your back, your shoulders and neck muscles relax, and your core muscles engage to support your spine. This is the position your body is supposed to be in - especially when sitting at a computer!
Good posture is a conscious activity. Correcting posture problems is largely about developing awareness and regularly adjusting habitual poor posture. In time, you will train your muscles to stay in an upright position and ease pain and discomfort caused by slouching in front of the computer or TV.
