Thai Restaurant SkyIce Featured in "YUMMY brooklyn" Blog

The youth of America is always looking for new and delicious places to dine with friends. For the twenty-something Vanessa Protass of YUMMY brooklyn, finding good places to eat in Brooklyn, New York is her mission. Bringing light to some hidden treasures, Thai restaurant SkyIce Sweet & Savory is honored to be featured in this popular blog.

There are many impressions you get when you stop by this Thai restaurant. From the outside the name “SkyIce” grabs your attention, as the aroma draws you into what will be a savory Thai meal. However, when you walk through the doors you are struck by what appears to be an ice cream counter. While you may think that their homemade, all-natural and vegan ice cream is the ultimate feature of this quaint restaurant, but there is so much more to taste!

"SkyIce Sweet & Savory: Northern Thai Home Cooking, Homemade Ice Cream & Desserts." This is name you will find stamped across the window, letting you into the secret that there are both sweet treats and flavorful meals awaiting your arrival. Beyond the ice cream counter inside is a busy kitchen preparing unique interpretations of Thai cuisine. You will find that this Thai restaurant offers a wide selection of savory Thai dishes, along with their original frozen treats.

On her visit to the restaurant, Protass was instantly won over by the sweet and savory dishes. The snack menu, including chicken and shrimp satay, (non-fried) chicken curry puffs and steam mushroom dumplings is perfect for a satisfying quick bite. Each dish was fresh, light and completely flavorful, especially the satay skewers dipped in luscious peanut sauce.

For a main meal, the Northern Thai Curry is a great addition to the average Thai menu, made with tofu and veggies served over a bed of delicate egg noodles. The curry added just the right amount of kick as to not overpower the dish. For a non-spicy and healthy meal, the No-Carb Pad Thai uses slivers of papaya in place of noodles for a unique meal.

It is essential to save room for dessert at SkyIce with their variety of unique ice cream flavors, including seaweed, raspberry cilantro and Thai tea. Try a sample of six flavors to truly give your taste buds a treat. Along with ice cream the restaurant offers plenty of sweet desserts like crepes and sticky coconut rice.

While YUMMY brooklyn shows the unique experience at Thai restaurant SkyIce Sweet & Savory, we encourage you to come in try these great flavors yourself!
