All children are strong, capable individuals. Guided by this understanding, Williamsburg Northside Elementary School provides specialized programming for infants & toddlers, preschool and elementary school children. Our school resides in the heart of Williamsburg and welcomes families into beautiful and flexible environments where children engage in independent and collaborative learning.  Serving as a Reggio Emilia inspired school with three distinct programs and two locations, Williamsburg Northside offers a truly unique and diverse community through which children can learn to expand their minds in many different areas. Our Infant & Toddler Center provides specialized programming for children ages 3 months to 2-years-old. Our preschool provides a joyful preschool experience for 2, 3, and 4 year olds.  For older children, our elementary school provides a challenging elementary education rich in the creative arts and creative expression.  The teaching methods, within each program, are always developmentally appropriate but also geared towards helping every student to achieve at the highest level of pre-academic and academic excellence, while building on progressive social skills necessary for the classroom environment. The unique curriculum also emphasizes the children's interests, their experiences with one another, and the world in which they live. We honor authentic expression and diversity as we cultivate compassionate citizens who find joy in learning.Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to education, we are committed to offering a school experience that views each and every child as a strong, capable, and powerful individual who is an active participant in his or her learning. Throughout the week, the elementary school children are engaged in a variety of enrichment classes including but not limited to, Studio Art, Library, Music, Dance, Physical Education, Science, and Spanish, in complement to the explorations in and out of the classroom. The teachers at Williamsburg Northside School continuously analyze materials and discuss the messages being relayed regarding diversity and other areas that affect children's learning experiences.  We believe our children should have positive learning experiences that teach acceptance of others.
